Seattle, live since 2026, is in SEA1 at the Westin Building, the downtown carrier hotel where the transpacific cables arrive before they bother with the rest of the country. We joined SeattleIX with Arelion and Cogent, and the first test instance answered Tokyo at 88 ms — the shortest US–Japan path in the catalogue, found in a city better known for rain and coffee.
The site runs 0.36 Tbit/s of edge capacity at a 3 ms local median, with 17 ms to Los Angeles, 40 to Chicago and 118 to Sydney. Seattle is where the Pacific cables come ashore, which makes it the American site for the northern Pacific route and for the users who live in the country's north-west corner.
