Acceptable use policy

Purpose

This policy protects the network, the other customers on it, and the people who receive traffic from it. Privacy is not a licence to harm people; the no-KYC ordering flow exists precisely because we judge behaviour, not identity.

It applies to every server, from the first packet after provisioning to the last before deletion, and to every account.

Uses that are welcome

Virtual private networks and VPN exit points, operated for yourself or your organisation.

Tor relays and exit nodes, within the limits below.

Cryptocurrency nodes, miners and infrastructure, including public RPC endpoints.

Polite scraping of public data: requests that respect the target's terms of service, the intent of robots.txt, and rate limits a human would call considerate.

Mail servers, after outbound port 25 has been opened on request for your sending domain.

Game servers, self-hosted productivity software, development, build machines, and the long tail of lawful personal computing.

Termination without refund: the instant list

The following end the account immediately, without warning and without refund, and the abuse report is filed where the law requires it:

Child sexual abuse material, in any form, stored or distributed;

Outbound denial-of-service or distributed denial-of-service attacks against any target;

Botnet command-and-control infrastructure, malware distribution, or ransomware operations;

Phishing, credential harvesting, or hosting the infrastructure of either.

There is no appeal process for this list. The 72-hour refund window does not apply to it.

Termination on notice: the warning list

The following attract a notice with a correction window, usually measured in hours, and termination if it is ignored:

Unsolicited bulk email or spam, including spam sent through an open port 25 you requested for a different purpose;

Copyright infringement after a notice that meets the DMCA or the equivalent local standard;

Credential stuffing, account enumeration attacks, or unauthorised scanning of networks you do not control;

Cryptocurrency address scams, giveaway fraud, or impersonation of services you do not operate;

Operating open proxies, open relays or otherwise misconfigured services that attract third-party abuse.

Tor and anonymity infrastructure

Tor relays are welcome, and exit nodes are welcome on the same basis as any high-abuse service: the operator is responsible for the exit's behaviour and for responding to abuse mail about it.

We expect exit operators to run the standard exit-node documentation, tag exit traffic clearly, and maintain the contact details the Tor project recommends. An exit node that becomes a one-way spam funnel is a warning-list matter, not an instant one.

Resource use

Fair-share plans cap CPU oversubscription at 3:1; sustained use at the cap is the plan working as designed. What is not allowed is using fair-share capacity to run workloads that belong on dedicated cores — mining at a loss is fine, mining your neighbours into 100 % steal is not.

Traffic allowances are monthly and unmetered inbound. Sustained saturation of the port that degrades the site for other customers is a warning-list matter.

Mail and port 25

Outbound SMTP is closed by default. Request port 25 in the console with the domain you will send from, and it opens when the request checks out — usually within the hour.

Once opened, the sending domain is yours to keep clean. Rogue sending gets the port closed again on notice, and a pattern of rogue sending ends the account.

Abuse handling

Reports go to abuse@vpsgrid.site. Include the timestamp, the source address, and a sample of the offending traffic; reports without those details are answered with a request for them.

We investigate using the 72-hour connection metadata window. Validated instant-list violations terminate the account the same day; warning-list items get their notice the same day.

We answer every report, including the ones that turn out to be noise. An unanswered abuse inbox is how ranges die, and the range is how every customer on it earns a living.
